Well today is home time. After a very relaxing holiday, swapping between sunning and shopping, we're back to the UK. On the way home we get used to the temperature drop in New York! Some sights from the plane were pretty cool!

10,000 BC Film Review

Hmmm, we seem to be getting alot of these films recently. Girl falls in love with boy, girl kidnapped, boy follows girl, boy and girl reunited. This is basically the plot of 10,000 BC, except the film is quite a trudge. Theres a couple of exciting bits with the Wooly Mamoth hunt and dinosaurs in the jungle (both timeline incorrect!), but generally the film drags and is fairly slow.

Vantage Point Film Review

Unfortunately the weather is a bit on/off at the moment. We snatched a couple of hours this morning before it clouded over again, so we're off to cinema again. This film is told from 8 people's point of view over the same time period. Its cleverly done, rewinding after each segment and switching views, each time adding a bit more story with twists and turns. The final person then cranks the action right up and brings the whole story to conclusion.

Thunder Day

Well we managed 2hrs in the hazy sun this morning before a huge black cloud covered the whole of Ft. Lauderdale and decided to chuck it down and thunder for the rest of the day! We headed to the biggest mall in Florida, Sawgrass Mall, and stayed there!

The evening clears up and is still very warm, so we decide to go for a late night swim.

Be Kind Rewind Film Review

The idea behind this film is sound, ropey funny remakes of classic old films. It didn't matter how bad they were as you'd recognise them from their catch phrases. While it gets to these bits early on in the film, they are funny, but don't last long! It then gets back to Jack Black taking over the film in his usual overpowering and annoying way. The rest of the film is about Black making a film about a fictional jazz character. Remind me to avoid all Jack Black films in the future, as he's annoying and as untalented as Ricky Jervais!

Sunny Day

Yesterday was a bit dull and dreary, but still very warm, so we decided to go shopping! Barry spent a small fortune, but got almost all his holiday shopping in one fell swoop. All my stuff is out next week!

Today was a very tropical 82° so after breakfast we decided to stay by the pool. After a break from the midday sun we returned to the poolside. At the end of the day we were a little bit red!

On our way to Ft. Lauderdale

Well here we are on our way to our first holiday for '08. Flying American Airlines Business Class, using up our air miles! Lets just say I'm glad I'm not paying full price for this, as the service is very lacking. No pampering, no buffet and no constant wine!

We currently stuck in Chicago, as our conneting flight has been delayed by 2hrs, so we get to watch the sunset. Unfortunately you have to buy drinks in the international business class lounge!! Only 30 more minutes until we get on the plane to Ft. Lauderdale.
