Boat Trip

Today we took a boat trip to Marina Rubicon, back out past our hotel, then back again to Papagaya Beach. It was lovely and sunny, but by the time we got back it had become a bit overcast.

***HAIRY LEG UPDATE*** - the previous evening we had been approached by a lady from Customer Services, who said they would refuse us entry to dinner if I didn't get trousers or cut-offs!! So yesterday we went shopping and got some 3/4 length shorts, which are literally about 6 inches longer than my shorts, but now I'm allowed to have dinner!!

No Hairy Legs Allowed

We have been harrassed at Timanfaya Palace, as apparently there was a dress code, not advertised in Thompson's brochure, that men MUST wear trousers to dinner. As we all know, I NEVER wear trousers, so we've been having an ongoing saga with the restaurant manager.

The first night, we explained we didn't know about the rules and hadn't packed trousers.

The second night, he ran after us waving trousers (which looked like staff uniforms) and asked us to wear them, luckily they were completely the wrong size. Good luck finding trousers to fit me!!

The third night he got very grumpy as we hadn't worn his badly fitting trousers!

Aparently ladies are allowed to wear shorts, but men aren't as we have hariy legs!!!!

Volcanic Dinner

Tonight we visited Timanfaya National Park, to see "El Diablo", the volcanoes and have dinner cooked over the volcano! The sangria helped the cheesey Spanish music pass ;-)

Lanzarote so far...

The Internet connection here is a bit "spanish", so will do updates when we can!

Yesterday was slightly overcast, so after champagne breakfast we walked to the shops and got some bit 'n bobs. By the time we got back the sun was blazing and we had the afternoon by the pool.

Today was just plain hot! Luckily there was a nice breeze and we crisped nicely by the pool.

Tonight we're off into the National Park to have dinner cooked over a volcano!!
