Star Trek Experience Vegas

The majority of beginning of 2006 we spent at the Star Trek Experience in the Las Vegas Hilton. Very cool surroundings (if you like Trek) and great food. We also did the "backstage" tour which showed you how they achieved the special effects on the two rides in the hotel: Klingon Encounter and Borg 4D!

New Years in Vegas!

How cool is this?! To be in one of the most OTT places on Earth for new years, when it becomes even more OTT!!! Cray-zeeee! We were down in front of the Bellagio hotel at midnight, it was packed. They had closed the 4 -lane-in-each-direction road off at about 6pm, and it was now absolutely full of people. It was too windy for the fountains :-( but we moved on round the lake at the front of the hotel to get off the busy "sidewalk" and get a better view. Watch the video for the 8½ minute firework display!! Reportedly each hotel along the strip spend around $5m dollars on their simultaneous displays.
