Our final full day, we head to the far end of the Vegas strip to the Stratosphere, up 866ft to the observation deck. After the dizzying heights, we popped into Circus Circus hotel to catch a circus act and a G 'n T. Barry won $30 on Dream of Genie, then we all won $11 on the giant slot machine!!
After our big win, we wandered around the Flamingo gardens at the Flamingo hotel.
Today was finally cooler at 86 degrees, so mum hit the sun and Barry and I went up the strip to collect tonights tickets. On the way back we stopped at Excalibur to play "witch bash", launching some stuffed witches into cauldrons to win prizes! I also finally rode the rollercoaster at New York New York hotel.
In the evening we headed back to Mandalay Bay to see Lion King, which had just opened this week! It was a Disney spectacular.
Today we rented a car and headed out to "normal" Vegas to faves Target and Walmart. We were also on a nail mission looking for some specific nail varnish for mum, which in the end we didn't find!
In the evening we had some tickets to see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian, in the $10 million custom built theatre. It was stunning! On the way back from Phantom we finally saw the fountains at Bellagio!
Today was far, far too hot, the temperature reached 109 degrees, we headed to the Mirage to see Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden where the dolphins and white tigers live. We chilled in the shade with beers and ice cream watching the dolphins play.
Today we were up and early, went for breakfast, then rested by and in the pool until it became too hot! After we headed to the Bellagio to see the flowers in the conservatory. They had a spring theme going on with watering cans and ladybugs everywhere.
In the evening, Barry surprised Mum with a Limo. We headed up the strip to the Stratosphere, the tallest free standing observation deck in the USA, then back towards the Vegas sign for photos, then all the way back again, stopping at the Viva Las Vegas Chapel where we had our commitment ceremony 6 years ago, then on again to Freemont Street for champagne dinner and to see the Freemont Street Experience.
We woke up early today, on our first day, to unfortunately find the pool in the shade, as we had planned the night before to lie in the early morning sun before it got up to over 100 degrees! However we went for a wander around our hotel's mall Planet Hollywood instead, then walked half way up the strip, stopping at the Venetian for a gondola ride, then onto the Fashion Show Mall, ducking in and out of the air conditioning on the way.
